The Saturday Afro-Cuban music workshops with Maestro Sandy Pérez will be continuing in the fall. He will hold intermediate and beginner workshops on September 7th and October 19th, at our usual location in Lynn. (Click the links to register).
The workshops provide an opportunity to learn with one of the most knowledgeable Cuban musicians of his generation for a very low cost.

Sandy Perez, hailing from the city of Matanzas, Cuba, is part of a well-known spiritual and musical family, the Villamils. Sworn to the drum as a youth, he began his professional career with the legendary group Afro Cuba de Matanzas at 16, and has since performed and toured with Lázaro Ros, Steve Coleman, Yosvany Terry, Miguel Angá, Dafnis Prieto, Olodum, Muñequitos de Matanzas, Pedrito Martinez, Román Díaz, and more.
The workshops will be facilitated by Lynn resident Michael Birenbaum Quintero, professor of Ethnomusicology at Boston University.
